Gavin and I were making Halloween cookies and he looked at me and said "mom, my stomach is getting ready to yell! These cookies look so good..." I think he meant his stomach was growling
This one is a payback for mom...we were sitting down eating dinner and Gavin didn't want to eat. I looked at him and said "Gavin, you need to eat your food" He looked at me and said "The last time I taked a bite, I almost throwed up..." Must he be so dramatic? Well, his mom pulled that one when she was little with spinach except I actually DID throw up at the dinner table. I haven't had spinach since!!!! (and no one tried to make me either)

My hands hurt, my feet ache...
and I haven't had eye makeup on in several weeks!! Thus the life of a stay-at-home-mom right? I am in dire need of a manicure, my hands actually hurt because my cuticles are so bad. I guess it's all the nose wipping and coloring with crayons. Oh well...wah wah, huh?

I don't even like watching that stuff.
For some reason, all Gavin wants to watch now is Animal Planet!! He is really into it. He even said to me "I think there is a lion show on tonight mom." Sure enough... I DO have to censor it because I can't even watch some of the gory stuff but he could sit there for hours if I let him!
This is not that easy...
Not that I ever thought being a full-time mom would be that easy but man, I didn't expect this. I am more exhausted now than ever. I am constantly reminding myself that the boys love having me here and it's the best thing for them, even though I'm questioning my sanity! Gavin is to that age, and since he's used to daycare, that he wants to be entertained and is used to having something to do all the time. Just when I think I can sit down for a minute while Luke is napping, it's time to play a new game with Gavin. I enjoy it, though, there just needs to be more time after bedtime for relaxing!! The other day when I was on the brink of crying, Gavin said to me "why don't you cry about it?"...OK, several things were wrong with this statement...Where did he hear that? I have never said anything to him that would mock his crying. Second, how did he know I wanted to cry right then and there? It must have been the look on my face...man, I'm easy to read, even by a 4 year old.
"Da plane, Da plane..."
Luke has discovered airplanes! (Good thing we practically live in the DFW airport.) Since there are constant airplanes flying over our neighborhood, he had discovered that when he hears one, he will soon see it. The other day, it was nice out so we had all the windows open. We were in Luke's room and he heard an airplane and he immediately looked up looking for a plane, pointing to the ceiling. Poor thing, he turned to me like "where is it?"

Funny G-manisms...
1) Gavin is always pretending he is "injuried" from a football game he's playing in and Brandy or myself pretend to be the trainer. The other day he said "Mom, I need help. I hurt my arm when I caught the ball." I said "What happened?" He said in a sad, football player-type voice "I chimped my arm!" HUH? Come again...
2) Gavin was trying to ask me where his "viewmaster" was. (Remember those binocular looking things that come with several different stories and you click the lever and the frame changes?) Anyway, he couldn't remember what it was called so he sat there for a minute and said "you know, the lookoscope"...

Who woulda thunk it?
The boys and I took a trip to Garden Ridge today and you would've thought Luke had been given all the goldfish he could eat!!! Of course, they have all their Christmas stuff out and all the Halloween "blow-ups" for the front yard. They had them up high and as soon as we walked in, Luke went crazy!!! He loved looking at them all. And to top it all off, he really enjoyed the Christmas lights!! We might be visiting Garden Ridge again soon...
