I was informed by a mother of a 4 year old at Gavin's school that her daughter, Ashtyn, was Gavin's girlfriend. I decided I needed to get to the bottom of this so Gavin and I had a conversation when I picked him up that went like this:
M: Do you have a girlfriend?
G: Well yeah...
M: Who is it?
G: Ashtyn
M: Do you know what a girlfriend is or does?
G: No
M: Well then how do you know she's your girlfriend?
G: Because she told me...
I don't know about you but I think that 4 year old will be president some day...just tell those boys what you want and they will do it!

They keep us laughing...
We took the whole family (plus Brook and Tiffany) to the Rangers game last Friday. We had so much fun. It wasn't too hot because there was a lot of wind and the Rangers won! Luke danced to every song that was played between innings. One of the best parts of the whole game was when they played the jingle "Dah da dah da da-da...CHARGE!" Gavin looked a little puzzled and then asked me "Mama, why do they keep saying George?" We laughed all the way home!

Camp time!!!
As we prepared for camp this weekend in San Marcos, several blog worthy moments came up.
Conner came over to spend some time with us and after several hours of 2 silly 3 year olds being goofy, we were searching for something to get them settled down and eat dinner. Knowing how much Gavin loves games, I implemented the good ol' quiet game. And whadayaknow it worked!!! The boys were quiet for several minutes in a row. (By the way, Linda lost the game)
Also, Sunday evening, Brandy asked Gavin if he was sure he wanted to attend camp this week. His response " Well yeah, I have to work on my game!" UMMMM, you're 3 so I don't think you really have a game, let's learn to shoot first.

Trains talk?
As we were reading "A Crack in the Track" (my fav Thomas the Tank Engine book), Gavin said to me "I've never seen a train talk. Thomas didn't talk when we saw him (at Day out with Thomas in Grapevine)". I said "He didn't talk, did he? HMMMM...why do you think he didn't?" After contemplating this very strange situation for a second, he said "His batteries were probably broken!"

OK, I have to post it...
I think it's hilarious that Brandy consistently waits for the last drop of gas to run out to pull into a gas station. Well, he learned his lesson. He ran out of gas in the Mercedes on Friday. Good thing it was only a half mile from the house. I was already on my way to San Marcos for the weekend so he had to put his walkin' boots on...
Great weekend!!
We had a great weekend in San Marcos. We got to eat at Herbert's and play outside in Memaw and Papa's yard. Even though I got strep throat before arriving, I still got to attend my good friend Kim's wedding in San Antonio. It was a blast. She looked beautiful and so happy. I can't wait to see her again. Gavin even got his toenails painted RED by Aunnie (at his request). Pictures to come...Now, back to reality.
